It's been forever!!! Took me quite some time to figure out what buttons to start my blog. Yesterday I was approached on campus by two IV people. They started praying for me. It was really cool. I haven't experienced something like that since the last winter retreat I went to. He gave me an invitation to come check out their fellowship............... Finals are next week!....... I'm 21 now!...... Currently, I'm taking 4 upper division classes and boy is it challenging. 1. Mechanical Behavior of Materials 2. Fluid Mechanics 3. Signals and Systems 4. Theory of Vibrations I think I like Fluid Mechanics the most out of all these 4 classes, but it's the class that I am doing the worse in. We deal with B.E. (Bernoulli's Equation), mass flow rate, angular momentum, rigid and rotational body motion, hydrostatic pressure, continuity, and much more! I should've listened to ratemyprofessor when I read that he was the WORSE professor ever. Out of the 3 professors...... NEVER TAKE LASHERAS for FLUIDS! Am I suppose to know what the molecular weight of air is suppose to be? Does anyone besides professors and TA's? Mech. Behavior of Materials is kinda like a class that's really really really important but you can always look it up. My professor is from Hungary. He looks like one of those bad guys from any of the 007 movies. I think the most important stuff that I'll retain in this class is how to calculate the hoop stress and longitudinal stress on a pressure vessel. There IS a difference between engineering stress/strain and true stress/strain. Too many equations.... Too many researchers and their own equations for different types of materials and their properties. BCC, FCC, HCP, can I get a OCD? <--- haha. This is why I think engineer will sooner or later loose all their sense of humor or lack of good humor. Since I'm already master of corny jokes. Yay. Signals and Systems is taught by this foreign professor from Iiiiiit-Taly! Did you know that students in Italy are required to know what the professor is lecturing about before they go to class?!?!?! I did not know that. My colleagues told me that's why she gets so annoyed when we ask her questions about what she's teaching us. This class reminds me of my linear circuits class cause it deals a lot with Laplace transforms and Z-transform. I guess it's suppos to make systems of equations easier to solve or something. Who knows. Theory of Vibration taught by Nesterenko! I love this professor! His accent is so THICK that it makes me smile when he starts to lecture. It's funny how he says Omega and Zeta. Anyways this class is all about vibrations: forced/free vibration, harmonic motion, damping, viscous damping and using the Lagrange equations to solve for the equations of motions. THIS BOOK sucks at teaching, but the professor does a good job of explaining it. Got 3 homework assignments due tomorrow. ALmost finish..... =] I've been drinking a lot of different types of Tea lately. Herbal, green, black, and white. I tried an herbal tea today that really kicked my butt. It was lemon ginger. Man that is some strong scent. I don't like it. haha. I'll be staying away from Herbal tea. Bring on the Jasmine Blossom Green Tea and Earl grey white tea. |
